Kotler and Armstrong define advertising as "the process by which companies create value for customers and build strong client relationships in order to capture value from client in return" This definition alone could explain why advertising is important, but let's outline several reasons why advertising should be among the business owner's main priorities.

Marketing builds value in your products and services.

Most salespeople need to know as small as possible to make the sale. Some sales staff wants things and technical specifications of that nature, but ultimately, the less they need to learn the greater. Because their objective is to create sales, this is logical. Marketing has to step in and create value for your customer. If you can't generate value for your customers, why will they purchase from you? Will they come back if there's absolutely no worth, although sometimes they will buy from you ?

Many times, business owners don't capitalize on all the ways they could give value to their customers. They have lost in the merchandise or production concept of marketing and end up with marketing myopia. Marketing myopia occurs when a firm benefits it offers to the client or pays more attention to this product/service than the value. You can't allow this to happen to you. Focus on your customers and why they purchase your products. People purchase a Toyota Prius not just because it saves on gas, but because it makes them dropped.

Marketing helps build customer relationships.

Everyone place emphasis on the sales staff when it comes to sales. "If the sales team does not work harder, we will not increase sales," but this isn't necessarily true. It costs twice as much to obtain a brand new client as it does to keep an existing one. This usually means that you need to maintain the relationship with your clients that are current in order here to reduce marketing and sales prices and increase earnings.

Properly planned and implemented marketing actions are the only real way to build client relationships. These activities may have a good deal of items: loyalty applications cards, customer appreciation events, free gifts, etc. Each corporation must find a unique way to set themselves apart from the competition while building a loyal and long-lasting relationship.

A brand image is established by Marketing.

When you use FedEx for shipping, you understand what you are getting: fast shipping, flexible transport options, and much better support compared to other shippers. Are these things all true? They may be, but their marketing and advertising activities established these all. FedEx will need to live up to those expectations of the brand, but the customer was set by their marketing department up .

You should use marketing to establish your brand. Customers will need to know what to expect based on your brand image. What kind of merchandise and what types of service are you going to provide the customer? Let your advertising inform the story and establish your own brand.
